This week's song was That Man , it was a jazzy number. Most of the pages I've done have been art journal stle, so this week I did an actual scrapbook page.
I really liked the line in the song, "oooo, I want to kiss that man", so I had a lip stamp and it was the perfect choice.

After all ,he's been pretty kissable for most of our 24 years together.

Today was Thursday, and it's Feb.and today in South Carolina ,it was almost 80 degrees. It was so beautiful. This has been a very mild winter. I'm glad it has been.

If anyone has ever read any of my blogs before ,you may know that my husband has been home for 2 moths because he hurt his knee and had to have an operation. So, it's been physcial therapy twice a week ,I drive us everywhere. But I'm glad. My husband and I have had alot of time to rediscover ecah other.

We both have found out we still love each other and need each other very much. For awhile I thought my hubby didn't care but he does,but he's the kind of man that will let me have my moments good and bad . He's there for me after things have fallen apart to talk with me and not at me like I thought he was doing.

So, I'm so glad this weather has been warm ,beats cold,high light bill and worrying about slipping on the ice. We've really been blessed these last few months,and I know I've been blessed with the best gift of all ,I really have found my best friend (my husband).

As I left off in the last blog, I've been able to get into my craftroom and get scrapbook pages , cards and art journal pages done. After being sick with some kind of bug it feels good just to be back to normal in my body,but this week I had some major healing in my spirit.
God, in some gentle and not so gentle ways told me it was time to stop and move on . I am loved ,but He doesn't need me to do His job ,thank you very much , Vikki.
So I move on . And I'm gonna be okay,for the first time in a long time , in my spirit , I can tell I'm gonna be okay. Last night as I was falling asleep, God started putting so many ideas about art in my head and heart, I can't wait to see what He has instore. So ,enjoy the scrapbook pages, cards and art journal pages.

I have been able to get into my craft room and get some work done on some scrapbook pages that I've been trying to finish and start on. I'm a year behind on somethings . It feels so good to get in my room ,and get out paper, stickers the old Cricket machine and make some pages. I even did some cards ,and mt new art journal pages will be coming up in part 2.

Being busy helps me in so many ways. I'm so greatful to God for this talent he has given me.

This is my page for A year in the life of an Art Journal. We had to use pockets and lists. So I used a pocket off my husband's worn out shorts and took some index cards and made a list of things I love about my husband Ronnie. When God wants You to Listen , He'll Knock You on Your Back

I have been sick recently in the last week twice. A 24 hour bug has been going around ,and both me and my son got it, got over it pretty quick.

This week another story. I got sick feeling on Tuesday night ( 2-13-2012), I got up on Valentine's Day, feeling like a Mac truck ran over me. I was cold,then hot, couldn't get my body steady and yes, even felt like I had to throw up,but nothing was there.
My father-in-law , took and picked up my son from school. I spent all yesteray in the bed, on my back. Even last night , I was still going from hot to cold . And the only thing I had eaten all day was 4 pieces of dry toast. I haven't been that sick in over a year,but there is a reason for everything.
I think part of it was ,yes there is a flu bug or some other virus going around and I caught it not once but twice. This second time was alot worse and I'm still dealing with it. I think the purpose God is using this second time with this bug ,is I needed to be on my back,so he could reach me.

I am a hard headed person ,and I am wearing myself out in someways ,that God really wants me to stop. God, wants me to stop picking somethings up and let Him have total control over.

I know God has put it in my heart to care , love and be a giver. But as God has given me those things ,the devil uses rejection, me never feeling good enough , and me compairing myself ,to destory all the good things God wants to do within me and keep me held back, to always second guess myself , and not to be fully used the way God wants to.

I so want to give God my worries , fears and burdens . To be free and know when I mess up , I'm forgiven ,but I keep waiting on a person to say these words and it seems it wont happen . I know God is more important than any person ,but when someone has been put in your heart and you have both been ugly to each other and want to have at least a truce ,it can me hard to move on. And I guess out of fear, I don't want to let go because I'm afarid I'll be forgotten .

So, I'm thankful for my time on my back. I'm trusting God will show me the way .

This is my page for Scrappin the Music # 190, the song was "Art" by Tanya Davis. I found some art related paper and stckers and used them . I used bright colors,because I'm having a very bright time in my life and I put a pic of myself in my favorite room,my craft room ! I also put an ATC card that I made.

I love to be creative,and I go with what I feel. I do wonder if anyone gets what I like,and does sharing help anyone as much as it does me.

Just alittle bit of art and a whole lotta of life this week.

Boy, this has been a week ! We got good news about my husband's knee.
My son had a good week at school .

We lost a rabbit due to a bad dog(not one of ours). We thought we had both rabbits gone,but Peter is still here. This made the second time he got away from a dog. He's keeping all of his lucky rabbits' feet .

I didn't art journal this week. Just had a block this week. I'm sure it will come back.
I did get in some card making today (2-11-2012 ) .

My life is alittle slow right now,but I know it's what God wants me to do, be slow for awhile so I can hear His still small voice,because for months I pushed myself ,tryed to be what everyone else wanted me to be,and I almost didn't make it . I'm sure to some I 'm a 43 year old loser,but to God I'm His child (by no means perfect),so that makes me a winner.

Sometimes Things Just Make U Cry

Today, was one of those " it hit me like a ton of bricks day".

My day started out good enough. Got up, had coffee got my son off to school and then I took my husband to his physcial threapy session. All of that went great.

We got home, and I started cleaning and getting lunch done. Then it happened : my cell phone rang. My husband answered it. I was just outside to go get the mail so Ronnie came to the back door. I thought maybe it was someone wanting to order Avon from me so I took the call.

The person did not want to place an Avon order ,instead this lady wanted to make an appointment to get a pedicure. Ihad to let this person know that at this time I was not working because I had to take care of my husband at this time. I did refer this person to a nail salon that I once worked at.

When I got off the phone , that's when the ton of bricks hit me. I am not working , I am not doing the work I once loved so much and someone else got that business ,when at this time I could use the money. And to be honest sending them to the old nail salon hurts some,but I do have 2 friends who work there and I still look out for them.

I just started crying. I wanted so much for my little business of Nails by Vikki to work,but it didn't . I only have myself to blame . I jumped into quick and didn't have a good business plan and only being able to do just basic manis and pedis ,really hurt me.

My husband hurt his knee and will be out of work till April . Now, he needs me and after all we went through last year, I think this time I need to be home with him.I just miss my work so much . Now that my husband is starting to move around better ,maybe I can teach myself how to do the fake nails.

I 've put some pictures of my nail stuff on here. I'm trying to stay strong and wait for my comeback ,please pray for me and my family at this time.

This is my page for this week's Scrappin the Music #188. The song was I'm Alive by Kenny Chesney and Dave Matthews. I know this song well,so picking out the words I wanted to use was easy.

I got out my art journal and went to work. I used an 8and a half x 11 inch paper for my background. I decided to use some clip art and chipboard flowers to fill in between the pics.
I decided to take a business card of mine and burn it , and burnt my thumb too( art can be painful). I still believe my dream of my own business will come true one day, that attempt didn't make it ,but I will be back !

I used an angel from a card because I really feel like God has put some angels around me to help me move beyond all that went down the last 4 months.
Right now at this time in my life I can truely singing the part about
"And today you know that's good enough for me, cause I'm alive and well."

The above photo is my scrapbook page for my resoultions for 2012. It's the 31st of Jan,so lets review and see how I'm doing

1. Read the entire Bible , Ihave started but not reading as much as I should.

2. Get some of this weight off of me. So far , I HAVE LOST 7 POUNDS!!!!

3. Exercise more. I have started walking 3 times a week. And hope to get back to my yoga classes with my cousin Kim.

4. Get back in the workforce. Still not working

5. Learn a new craft. Haven't found anything that intrest me at this time,but hey got the rest of the year.

6. Only let the right people in. Working on this , my therpist is hepling me.

7. Get rid or cut down on clutter. Have been going through old clothes and getting ready to take them to Goodwill.

8. Take time to relax, this one has been hard ,but I have gotten in a couple of bubble baths ,I really need a massage.

9. Laugh more ,cry less. This one I can say I am having much success

So this is where I'm at . Hope the rest of ya'll are making points with your list. Now don't beat yourself up,we still have 11 months after all.

I picked free,because I want to be free from some emotions that have been dragging me down for awhile. I used 2 different screens a wing and I don't know what the other thing is,but it has wings on it. Wings ,mean flying and being free.

I'm taking steps to move beyond these emotions and ways I look at myself. I so want the life God wants me to have.

See ,my picture above. I have a smile on my face , real 100 % smile,nothing fake about it. This week I had a major breakthrough . I came to realize we all go through hard times, sometimes we cause our own problems and sometimes we hold on to things because we think we might lose the memory of it,but I know that I never will ,once it's in your heart it is with you always, good bad and ugly. My threapist helped me to come to terms with something and I'm so glad that it is done.

My husband is getting stronger. His knee when sitting, can bend to a 70 degree angle and when he is getting better control when doing his exercises without the leg brace on.

I got some scrapbooking done this week along with some art journaling. Here are this week's ,enjoy.

This is my post for Scrappin the Music # 187. The song was I Feel Good by James Brown.
I was happy we had an upbeat song ,and happy to see that the song was somebody who was from South Carolina .
The choice was a no brainer for me. I picked a recent picture of me and my husband Ronnie.
Like any couple that has been married for a long time, we have had ups and downs. Last year was a rough one for us,but things are getting better,so yes I Feel Good!
I am a blessed woman to have such a wonderful man in my life.

I can't remember what the paper is ,but I kbow I got the stickers from Big Lots.

My Music Moves Me

This is a page called "My Music Moves Me".

If you look on this page you will see some of my favorite groups and singers . This is just a few , the list is way longer.
Music is a big part of my life. Growing up we always had music playing around the house or in the car. When I was younger my dad had an 8-track .
I remember 45's and 33's records and then came cassettes ,CD'S ,and now we are on all this download stuff.
I still buy CD's. I have an MP3 player but hardly use it.

I still love to create listening to music . Music is a form of therapy for me. I listen to all types.

It's odd that I got my love of music from my dad. We had a very hard realtionship . I never felt good enough for him and I was forever in my brother's shadow. But the few good memories I do have of my dad center around music.
My dad listened to stuff from the 50's, country , jazz, even some rock and music from other countries. I guess that was a good part that rubbed off on me.
My mom liked music too , she liked stuff you could shake a tail feather to. She brought disco and Rod Stewart in my life .

Now I have my son Israel, and he loves to sing, loves to listen to music. He can sing wor for word "Rolling in the Deep "by Adelle ,and "Fire to the Rain". Israel , has a good voice. I'm glad I'm sharing this with my son.

Happy New Year !!! (Chinese ) Year of the Dragon

Today is the Chinese New Year and it is the Year of the Dragon.

Good thing about this is my husband was born in the Year of the Dragon, so Iam taking this as a big comeback year for him . The knee is coming along slowly and that is driving him crazy.
I see that he has come aways ,but my hubby is beating himself up.
I guess it is hard to be still when you are use to working all the time.

I am running around alot now ,but in other ways. Taking our son to and from school; taking care of all of our pets and doing all of the shopping. Somedays it's a breeze but I do have some days where I just feel like it is too much for me.
Iam learning to lean on God now and not so much on people. People will only do so much. Sometimes you got to stand on your own. Sometimes you have to go away and be alone so you can hear God's still small voice above all the nosie that is around you.
I've been so thankful for this time. It ain't perfect but it is the way is it for awhile.
Winter has never been my favorite time of year. I don't like the cold or the dampness that comes,but I have hope that Spring and God's Renewal will be here soon. And by then my hubby will be back to work ,and hopefully I will healed from some pain I have had with me for awhile.

Things are Slowing Down and Getting Back to Normal( well, normal for us)

This week was full of doctor appointments and running our son back and forth to school. But I made it through the week!
My husband got his staples out of his knee and they are giving him a whole hour at physcial therapy now. My husband was very sweet and told me how proud he was of me for getting myself together and just tsking charge like I've been doing. I can't take any credit for that ,God has been helping me get it together.
We are having our primary in South Carolina today,for the Republican party. This week I have been called more times than I have ever been called in my life. On Friday night alone, we got 12 calls in one hour from Romney . I really think they need to leave people alone and just let them make up their own mind.

This is the page I did for Scrappin the Music ,for the song Care by Kid Rock. First , I like to listen to the song at least 3 to 5 times. I like to use the part of the song that speaks to me the most . And, for this song the chours ,really touched me.

It spoke to me because awhile back I got caught up and out of control with trying to do everything and be everything to everybody. It brought on a depression ,alot of stress and cost me alot. I can't do it all, and be it all,but I can care,and just go on with my life ,because in the end that's what everybody else did.

The one thing I can have a part in is my son. He is a joy. We are alot alike. I can care about my husband and my pets. They are my life and we each need other.

Well this a been another busy week. I think the next few months will be like this. Knee operations have a long peroid of recovery ,but I know my husband will be okay. We have alot of people praying for us ,and that gives us comfort.
I'm having to do alot more than I 've ever had to do before and sometimes it can be too much . But I'm learning to push through it ,just like how my husband is learning to push through his pain as he does his physcial theropy.
Right now I'm home,and it's okay. We had a rough year last year. Alot of thinngs got out of control, and it's good to get back to the real and true things in life.
I have started selling Avon ,and maybe after my husband gets alittle stronger and more steadier, I can go back to working and maybe doing manis and pedis again.
This has been a time of creative energy for me ,and I 've been able to do some art journaling. here are some of my newest ones.
So greatful to God for everything,and greatful for the lesson of letting go.

What a Week it Has Been

Well, the first week of 2012 has been a busy one. Monday and Tuesday , I did the normal things and then came Wednesday(1-4).
On Wednesday , my husband had to have his knee operated on. He will be out of work for 4months. It was very hard getting him in the house,and all he did Thursday was sleep. Friday, he was more alert,but not strong enough to get out of bed. Now, today (1-7-2012). My husband with the help of his brother, pretty much holding him up and my husband dragging his leg,made it to the living room.
I had been wanting to spend more time with my husband ,but not like this. I'm not working now. I guess it's a good thing I'm not right now,but by Feb.,I've got to get us some money coming in.
I would love to write that my faith is strong and I know God will carry me through this,but I have moments of fear. Will we get everything paid on time ? Will I ever work again ? I have such a small amount of faith .
So far I'm holding up ok. I know my husband is worried because I just went througha depression , anixety and anger thing. I know in the back of his mind ,he wonders if I'll snap again .
The good thing about this time is ,my time I have to make art. Getting my paint and other stuff out, helps me get my mind off of things . I also think God speaks to me at these times,so this has been my first week of 2012,how was urs?

Got the Blues

Okay we are only into the 3 rd day of 2011 ,and I've gotten a case of the blues allready.

My son goes back to school tomorrow. He's been on his Christmas Vaction from school for almost 2 weeks. I had hoped today would be a nice last day before school started back ,but all hopes of that have been dashed.

It all started going down hill because we had the TV on and I was watching something,my son started in with his telling me to turn the channel,then it was why did I change the channel? Was it time for his show to come on ?

Then came the back talking because when we were trying to hear about a shoot out ,we had to tell our son to be quiet several times. Somewhere in my son's thought processes ,the part that should understand "hush" ,doesn't work.

I am all most at the point where I am about to call the phone company and get the cable turned off. I would save $ 42 a month,but living out in the sticks like we do,our TV wont pick up anything. We don't have a Wii either,so I can't do TV with that.

I can't stand how things are going. In my house I

am the enforcer,the forever bad cop. My husband gets to be the fun one,the good cop. Just this morning before my husband went to work,he said I should let our son watch the show he had been carrying on about because , we told our son he could.

Our son, needs to learn you don't nag people ,and when they say stop and hush , you do those things. Why should I let my son watch a thing on TV ,when he would not behave before hand ?

I really don't get my husband's thinking some days. How will our son ever learn? My husband doesn't have a clue of how our son really is either,my son is a different child when daddy is around.

This is causing me so much stress ,and worry. I really feel all alone now. No one in my home listens to me or respects a word I say. I am really starting to HATE my life out here.

I can't tell you the last time anyone has come to see me. I think my husband enjoys it . He doesn't like being around people. I just feel like that old Queen song anymore,"I Want to Break Free."

Everytime I think I'm doing the right thing with my family,I get knocked down and I am so sick of it. Really hope things get back on track.

Well now that I have plenty of time home and we are getting some very coolllddd weather, I've been able to get my Christmas cards made.

Confused and a sore Tooth to Boot

Well, got up this mornig not feeling all that great,and my left bottom jaw tooth is hurting me. Think I'll be getting some work done soon.

Also woke up feeling confused. The job came to an end. This time I left. After I told my boss I needed to cut my days back,things just fell apart. She started letting other hairdressers do the mani and pedis ,when I wasn't there ,but she even let one of them have a pedi on the day I would be there. I hadn't made a dime in 2 weeks ,it so was slow. When it cost you more money to work ,than to stay at home, you stay at home.

My hometown has gotten full of what I call " chop shop " nail salons. It makes it really hard to have a manicurist in a salon. And with the economy the way it is, I need to work somewhere ,where I can get paid by the hour.

My son's school work has gone down too. I thought he was big enough for me to be out of the house,but now Iam not so sure. So I'm back to being a stay at home mom.

Now I will have time to learn how to do those fake nails and get back into doing the scrapbooking,art journaling and card making. I'm also hoping this will give me time to get back on the wagon with my weight lost,because I'm back up to what I started out with at the beginning of this year. :(

Cutting Back :(

Well, work has gotten to a crawling pace. As a result, I've had to cut my days down to 3. I know my boss isn't thrilled,but I can't see sitting up at work for 2 days in arow and not getting any work. Between gas and day care I'm going broke.

I really like where I work. It is a slow time of the year,but it just seems to be even slower than normal. I was so excited about getting my cosmetologist license back . I am starting to wonder if Iam just not that good at manicures and pedicures. I have to compete with these chop shop nail salons now. They are very fast and lose with the cleaning regulations and some are still offering razor service,which is a "no-no" in SC.

I really hope things pick up . All the confidence I had weeks is starting to fail .

Work and work

Well, they say the 3rd time is the charm;and I am finding this is true. I have found a salon that I fit into and I am really enjoying it. I am a licensed cosmetologist but for now I am just doing manis and pedis. I've been there a little over a week . I've had a couple of slow days,but I'm sure things will pick up.

My boss is very fun. She wants us to learn . Today we had a color class at the salon with Redken . She let me sit in on it and I learned so much. I feel I could do color now. She lets me do things to promote myself.

The pic above is something I made up for a special I'm doing for the month of Nov. I used my Cricut machine to makethis sign . I used the Forever Young Cartridge . I love because it has the girls, but also has a nail polish bottle and gloves . I also won a Summertime in Paris. I love it too. I'll be posting some of those projects later.

Okay, I'm back. It's been a couple of months,but I hate to give up on anything so here goes.

Has Anybody Seen my Old Friend Karen Pierce ?

Today is my friend Karen's birthday . Today she is 43. For a least 12 years of my life we were BF's. Then I got married ,she moved far away. Then the things of life started happening and now it seems we only get in touch once in a blue moon.

I really miss Karen. She was the first real friend I ever had . We stayed at each others house. I love her like a sister . I often find myself wondering if she is okay and does she miss me as much as I miss her ?

I've tryed over the years to strike up some meaningful friendships with some of the ladies around me,but they just have never stuck. I can be moody and sometimes a bit selfish. I really miss the close girlfriendness that we had. Nothing like having someone to laugh with,go shopping with and just sharing the up and downs of life with.

Down but not OUT !!!

This week has been full of many ups and downs. I'm still doing the review to get my cosmetologist license back,and this week I failed both my test.

On a good note we had VBS at my in-law's church. I'm enjoying it and so is my son. I love that they have an adult class,and even let us do the crafts also.

Now, this has been a week of car problems,the ac is leaking water in my car, it smells. And to top all of that off ,my son broke the door handle on one of the back doors so I can only use 3 doors.

I have been playing around with doing some nail art. Mostly stripes and dots. Tryed doing watermelon design on my toes today ,but my hands were shakey and it came out all messy.

We still have another month before my son goes back to school,and I don't know if I'm gonna make it.

And to top everything off,we now have rats. I've put out 6 trips and some bait,but so far only one caught so far. This happens every time they cut the field by my house.

I'm really praying for next week to go better. Both my husband and I have a week off from school .

Sunday, is July the 4th. Can't wait to do some major grilling and eating,might even get some crafting in too.

This is a 3 page layout. On June 19,2010 we renewed our wedding vows,in Myrtle Beac SC. I like to keep my layouts simple ,and I try to put as many photos on a page as possiable. I also try to get the colrs in my photos to match my papers and stickers. I found the little hearts at a local Big Lots.

As some of you know Iam a big wrestling fan. Well,today I have to post that my favorite wrestler Dave Batista ,is no longer with the WWE. I'm not in shock about ths,because for months ,it's been floating around that Dave was thinking about leaving.

At Sunday's PPV(Over the Limit ) ,Dave lost yet agin to Cena. From just the pictures alone,it looked like a great match. I did read that Dave had some back and tailbone issues,because of the match. I know, most say it's fake;but you get thrwn through the stage ,it's gonna hurt.

I was able to catch what happened on Raw . I hope Dave wasn't as hurt as he looked ,but man it wasn't good. If that is how WWE decided to leave things with Dave and have him go out that way, it really sucks.

But the WWE has really been making alot of mistakes,the last year. The whole Mickie (Piggie ) James stuff went on way to long,was really disrespectful ,and then the Cm Punk stuff has gone on too long also. Then WWE just up and fires Mickie( I bet they are regretting that,now that Beth is out,and Melina is still out).

So I will still be a fan of Dave Batista,but no longer of the WWE. I wish all those who work for the WWE in any kind of way good luck because ya'll are gonna need it.

I hope Dave works on his acting skills ,gets movies ,TV and can really break out and away like The Rock (Dwayne Johnson ) did. Sending nothing out but love and blessing to Dave.

A Day Like Today,Makes Me Miss Momma

On a day like today, I really miss my mom. I've been having a busy week. I mean super busy !

Today ,I started taking my class for retraining to get my cosmetology license back. I'm so excited ,I can hardly contain it all! My husband is happy for me and my son has even acted like he's proud of his momma. I love them so much for their support,but it's a day like this that I wish I could run to the phone and call my mom.

My mom was my biggest support ever.She really believed in me. I could always count on her to be super excited for me and allways there to help any way she could. I know she would be proud of me for doing this,but man it's hard when your best cheerleader is gone.

I was inspired by the ladies over at Scraping to the Music to try something on my own.

This is something I put together. I love David Bowie. My favorite Bowie song is Thursday's Child. My son was born on a Thursday so he will have far to go.
I used the bottom of a Ramen Noodle box as the base. Then used Gesso and arylic paints. I printed out the cover of the CD the song came from and then the lyrics. My last step was adding some random photos of my son. Then I went over the whole thing with Mod Podge.

As some of you may know ,I have been looking for a job for awhile now,but I haven't had any luck. Today I went to get my 1 hour massage and just happen to say that I was thinking about getting my cosmetologist license back. I got postivie feed back from not only the person giving me the massage,but also from my hairdresser.

In fact my hairdresser offered to help get ready for it. So in the next few weeks I will be taking steps to become a licensed cosmetologist in the state of South Carolina . I am feeling so up today ,really feel like God is giving me yet another chance. Asking if everyone who reads this will be in prayer for me about this.

Also I will be making up some kits to sale at a local shop. Light is coming back ,thanks God.

Busy , Busy

Boy, I am busy ! Well, I should write that I feel busy. I look around me and I see clothes that need to be ironed and put up. I have a pile of stuff that needs to be handwashed.

Then there are all those dishes that need to be cleaned( stinking dishwasher died 3 months ago ! ),plus I need to mop and dust.

I HATE HOUSEWORK !!!! Day in and day out it is the same. I don't get any help so then I fall into"why bother ?",and then it all gets piled up.

To top this all off; I have come to a block with my art work and scrapbooking.

I think a big part of this ,is because I'm having some personal issues and I know God will help me get through this. So I'll be posting some stuff soon on this blog and on You Tube.

IT'S FRIDAY !!!!

We have been having one of those week's in our house. It all started Monday,with a notice from my son's teacher that he was fighting.

Tuesday, went to Wal-Mart,my son acted up.
Wednesday- My son acted up at home
Thursday- My son got in trouble at school again !
Friday- got a call,son was crying and coughing .School called back later told me he was better (it's 12:03 pm) ,so ....

It has hit me over the last 2 days that God is trying to show me that my life is getting out of balance again. Time to slow down,breathe ,and refocus.

Today , I just had a good cry and just told God how sorry I was for letting things get messed up with me, my family and not doing what I know is right. I have have to apolize to God for not putting Him first like I should.

I don't feel so heavy now,thanks God.

My Weight -I've Fallen off the Wagon :(

Okay, I have got to be honest here. I have fallen off the wagon ,with my weight. For the last 2 weeks, I have been eating alot of take out,and not being able to make it to the gym . I have gained 5 of the 8 pounds that I had lost back.

I just can't seem to get my groove back with eating right and getting to the gym. If anybody has any ideas ,please share them with me.

Okay so yesterday was Tuesday. I have to see what happened on Raw over my computer because I don't have cable. Well, it didn't look like much.So I go on one of these wrestling sites. And I got some bad news !

SMACKDOWN IS BEING MOVED TO SYFY !!!!

From what I read this wont be happening till the end of the summer.Now I wont be able to catch any wrestling. This stinks!

Okay, I'll admit it gladly. I love wrestling !!! I have been a wrestling fan on and off scine I was 8 years old . I am now 41 and have fallen back in love with wrestling.

I didn't grow up with Vince and the WWF (now called WWE) . I grew up with Mid-Atlantic Wrestling. Guys like Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat,etc. Then came WCW. You had guys like Sting, Kevin Nash, Dallas Page , Bill Goldberg, etc.

Well, after WCW went away ,I took a break from wrestling for a couple of years and picked it up in the late 1990's ,early 2000's. I got really upset with all this Steve Austin 3:16 stuff. I didn't like all the stuff going on with the female wrestlers either. I did enjoy The Rock !

Now ,I picked up wrestling again (back in 2008) . I discovered a wrestler called Batista ! I thought Dwayne Johnson ( The Rock ) was fine, Batista is ultra fine !

He was on Raw for awhile then he went back to Smackdown and for the last few weeks he's been on Raw. The draft is tonight so I'm hoping Batista goes back to Smackdown. They have several good wrestlers on there( Undertaker, Rey Mysterio , Kane, John Morrison, R-truth and Matt Hardy),but Batista is my favorite.

He just brings this "it" with him. He is 6'5" and 290 pounds. Right now he's got a shaved head and several tattoos. I just miss him ,and I think the show is better when he is on.

So,DAVE BATISTA PLEASE !,COME BACK TO SMACKDOWN !!!!

Easter 2010

This Easter was very nice. We went to Sunrise service at our church,had breakfest,then we had a short service and singing program. This year the weather was nice and warm.

I made the Easter baskets this year. My son got candy and 2 hot wheels cars. I made one for my husband too,but he's too macho for me to take his pic with his baskets.

We had an egg hunt eariler in the week at church.

The Cup

Well, it's that time of year again. Time for "The Cup",as most people in Camden ,South Carolina call it.

It has to do with horse racing. People make a big to do about it. They get all dressed up. Some even bring out the best china and silver and have lavish tailgating parties. Some fry chicken ,bring their sofas from home and coolers full of beer. It is a big party , a very important social event .

But does the race and all the work with the horses get much watching ? Sadly, I don't think so. Which is really a shame. I think more people would enjoy the race and watch it if we were allowed to bet on it. I know Camden and our state could use the money.

I have never understood why South Carolina holds on to some of these out dated laws. We still have blue laws in some of our counties. We want you to play the lottery ,but don't you dare bet on the horses! Now I could be wrong ,but as far as I know you can't bet. But we know under the table people bet.

I see nothing wrong with someone wanting to bet. You know the old saying about a fool and their money.

Sadly to say, I wont be there this year. Got a birthday party of a very cute girl's to go to.

But next year , I will be there in all my glory!

A big brightly colored hat, sling back heels,some loudly colored clothes ,with my olive green sofa . You know I'll have that fried chicken and at least one banana pudding.And just like everybody else ,I'll be there being seen and not having a clue about the race.

My Weight

Well, have had gotten myself down to 189 now. It feels great to be out of the 190's. It's taken me close to 2 months,but I'm feeling good. I have been going to the gym ,drinking more water and cutting back on red meat.
My arms are coming along nicely,but I haven't noticed much difference in my legs. My clothes are fitting different,so I am losing inches.Not alot but something is better than nothing.
I 've been moving up on the tread mill and I can now do a full 30 minutes of very fast walking.
Getting the water in and exercising are still the hardest parts,but I'm getting there.

Today we had the funeral for my grandma Bessie. My grandma was 94. Her mind was still good,but her heart was tired . For years I wasn't close to her,but after I had my son things changed for us.
I was well into adulthood ,before my granma could tell me she loved me and I could feel that love.
Grandma was a force of nature. She went where she wanted to, and you knew what she thought about things. She was very independent. She was a nurse.
My grandma out lived 2 husbands,all of her siblings ;2 of her children and 1 grandchild.

We had a good visit around Christmas. It really hit me last night that she is gone. Today at the funeral when they were talking about Effingham,SC; my mind went back to when I was 5 and we lived in the field down from grandma. Sunday dinners, my cousins , and Great Aunt Annie-lou ,and Uncle Henry. I just started crying.

Alot of my family has died . I will truely miss Grandma Bessie. She was a good old gal.

Update on weight

Well ,I joined the gym and have been very motoviated about getting back in shape, at least in my head Iam anyway. Now I've ran into a wall again. My weight has not gone down. I know this happens but it really gets to me.

I drink more water now,so what's up. I know one thing I need to do is get to the gym 3 days a week. For the last 2 weeks I've only made it in 2 days a week. Ireally hope to get over this wall. Getting weight off is hard,but nothing in life worth fighting for is. I was hoping to meet someone at the gym and I'd have a workout buddy,but no luck yet. Well, enough about that let me get off my duff and get to the gym . Have a blessed day ya'll : ) !!!

Man, this is a rough day !

Man, this day is turning out to be a rough one. It all started out this morning. My husband was taking our son to school when he called me . On the way to school , my husband saw a dead dog by the side of the road. This was about a mile from our home. My husband thought it looked like our dog Scoot. So I went to check and sure enough; it was our Scoot.

We had only had Scoot for 7 months and we all loved him so much. He was dropped off by our mailbox when he was just a little thing,then he got hit and his right front leg had to be removed. Not having his leg didn't slow Scoot down at all. He was a yard dog,and I thought he was staying near by,turns out he wasn't.

I pulled off the road and got him ;then drove back to our place. Because it's been so cold and rainy, I had to drive out to the woods and put him where alot of the dead animals go. I gave him one last pet and got back in my car. So, now I'm done crying. What makes this worst is just yesterday, our daddy rabbit ,Spicey Buck,was taken out of his cage. Plus,we haven't seen our cat Morris in 5 days. I hope he 's just off Tom Cating with some sweet thing . I'll post some actual scrapbooking and other art projects later in the week.

We had church at home

Last night we got a phone call, we were informed that we would not be having church because of the icey roads in our area.So, we could sleep in late and there are a number of churches who broadcast on TV from our area,but I decided to have church at home.

I read from Colossians 3:18-25, I often find that when this passage is read from the Bible , only the first couple of lines are read. And just like everything else in life you need to get the whole thing read or you'll miss some important steps.The big message in this passage is no matter what you do, do it for God.

I often forget this. I try to do things to please others or to get some notice and then I wonder,why ain't it working ? I forget to do it for God first and then all things will follow. We all have people we have to be around and do things we don't always like to do,but when you're doing it for God,it changes your outlook on alot of things.

Well, I got through this week. I was behind on my housework so I only made it to the gym twice this week. I'm really feeling good about going to the gym. I feel like I'm taking steps toward a goal for a change.

I've gotten back into doing art journaling . I let myself stop,because I comparing myself to others. You should do art journaling because you want to express yourself.

We found out that our dog Scoot ,is almost deaf and he's not a year yet. My son has a cold and I'm praying real hard we don't have to make a doctor's visit come Monday. I've got some video to do and post this week-end for my You Tube channel / scrappygalinsc

Today I Gave Up Something

Today I got up. Started my normal things. Got myself together and debated on going to the gym or not. Not,won. I went over to my facebook page,and I got an answer to a question.

For awhile now I have been wanting to adopt. Seeing babies and small children just tug on my heart anymore. A local DJ at a Christian music station that I listen to had adopted a child from Haiti well over a year ago. Seeing all the children in Haiti on the TV ,I wanted to find out what he did. Well, this morning I was put in contact with the people his family used. My family can not afford to adopt at this time so we are sponoring 2 children. A girl from Haiti , and a boy from China. I have never met these children ,but I have all ready welcomed them into my heart.

Today , I gave up what I would spend eating out so these 2 children will have a chance at life. Try it, give something up today!

What a week and A half !!!

Ever had one of those days ,that turns into one of those week's ?

I'M HAVING ONE OF THOSE !

It all started this past Saturday. I was on a roll with my house cleaning and feeling really great cause I went to the gym;did the x-biking class and lived. Well, that evening I 'm sitting back talking with my husband ;when suddenly we heard water running. I ran to my kitchen. Water was flowing out of the bottom of my dishwasher like a waterfall! So now my dishwasher is dead !

On a sadder family note,my husband's grandmother died on Jan.18,2010. Grandma Kate, had been sick for 3 years. She had ITP,it was hard to watch her go down. The meds caused her see things that weren't there and she was often in pain. We all will miss grandma but we know she is in heaven with God,Jesus and baby Michell.

Yesterday,was grandma funeral. All of her children,grandchildren and great-grandchildren were there. We are in the South,so we now have enough fried chicken to feed an army. (I'll have to post a blog one day about Southern funerals ). Well, all wasgoing well as could be expected,till the evening came.

My son stated throwing up,then the bottom fell out (yuck !!) . So now I have one sick boy at home and a husband who woke up with a very bad headache. I will not let this get me down ! I will keep on keeping on !
